The 99th Aggressor Squadron was founded on December 9, 1999, at 9:00 p.m., when 17 former pilots of the Skylords Squadron made the collective decision to form a new virtual air combat unit. That decision was rooted in a shared belief that camaraderie, equality, and enjoyment of the simulation should always come first.

Established as a Tactical Air Group (99th ASTAG), the squadron is built on the principle that all members are equal. Leadership positions within the 99th exist as roles of responsibility—not authority—and no individual is considered more important than another. No one is told how to have fun; instead, members fly together in an environment defined by mutual respect, teamwork, and a passion for air combat simulation.
